TWC awards grants through Camp Code to increase the interest of middle school students in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) careers. By encouraging STEM careers at Camp Code, eligible applicants such as Texas school districts and institutions of higher education give students a head start on creative problem solving and analytics.
Camp Code focuses on increasing the interest of middle school students in STEM by providing summer camps and offers hands-on experiences with challenging and innovative concepts.
In 2023, Camp Code is providing over 1,200 students with activities and lessons that encourage their interest in high technology, such as working in teams to use programming languages to build games, web pages and robots. These activities enhance interest in STEM and contribute to Texas’ future workforce needs.
