Preparation Suggestions

For the interview you should:

  • Arrive on time, at least 10 to 15 minutes before the actual time of the interview.
  • Bring enough copies of your resume, list of references and work samples for all interviewers and ensure they are in an accessible format.
  • Be well rested, enthusiastic and positive.
  • Be prepared to answer questions about your qualifications and demonstrate your knowledge of BET Program rules and policy.

Sample Interview Questions

Be prepared to provide detailed answers, including examples, in response to interview questions. Questions to prepare for may include:

  • What are your short- and long-term career goals? Where do you see yourself in five years? In 10 years?
  • What skills, experience, education or strengths make you a good fit for BET and the position of BET facility manager? Explain and give examples.
  • What is the most significant responsibility you have had in your career, and what did it teach you?
  • What were your three greatest accomplishments in your last job?
  • What's the biggest mistake that you've made on the job? What did you learn from the mistake?
  • What is one example of a situation where you identified a problem and came up with a creative solution?
  • What is one example of your ability to work independently?
  • What do you look for in the employees you supervise? What would your ideal team of employees be like?
  • How would you motivate your employees and help them work together as a team?
  • How do you handle conflict? For example, how would you handle an employee who does not get along with his or her co-workers? How would you handle an unsatisfied customer?
  • Why do you want this opportunity?
  • What difficulties and challenges do you foresee in making the move to an independent business operator? How will you overcome them?
  • How confident are you that you can successfully perform the duties of BET manager? Why?
