All-Star College Award Nomination Guidelines

The All-Star College Award honors a community college, technical college, or Texas engineering extension service whose efforts and partnership have improved the Texas workforce system and local community efforts by identifying, creating, and contributing to skills enhancement and training in order to best support business needs. This higher-education partner focuses on skills gaps and uses innovative approaches to best support the mission of the Texas workforce system to remain economically competitive. 

The nominee must have received or be currently receiving a Skills Development Fund grant.

The nomination should highlight any of the following, including, but not limited to:

  • Partnership efforts with employers or local workforce development areas (workforce areas)
  • Planning and designing training projects that meet the needs of employers
  • The impacts that the program or skills-funded training has had on the workforce area
  • The number of trainees that have benefited or will benefit from the grant

Community colleges, technical colleges, and Texas engineering extension services are encouraged to submit nominations for the All-Star College Award.

The Awards Committee will accept nominations until close of business Monday, June 19, 2023.

Please refer to the following tips and reminders to best prepare nomination responses:

  • Microsoft Forms supports the following browsers:
  • Most fields are required; however, if there is no response for a field, enter “N/A.”
  • To help plan nomination responses, complete the Planning document provided with each award description on this page and then copy and paste responses into Microsoft Forms.
  • Formatting does not transfer when you copy and paste into Microsoft Forms. Once you paste responses into Microsoft Forms, please add any paragraph breaks by using the Enter/Return key.
  • There is no option to review your submission before clicking “Submit” on the final screen. Use the “Back” and “Next” buttons to navigate from page to page and review responses.
  • Select “Submit” to submit the nomination. Upon submission of the nomination form, a thank-you message will appear on the screen.
